Live-Goods Merchandising is a great job for those who love plants.
Duties include, (but are not limited to):
- Watering plants daily (sometimes twice daily)
- Unpacking/Unwrapping deliveries and setting them up in aesthetic displays
- Maintaining Displays (signing & keeping varieties organized/striped)
- Cleaning & Culling plants, keeping track of and reporting culled material
Hours:
- Daily start at 6:00 a.m. through late August
- Daily start at 7:00 - 7:30 a.m. late August through mid-October
NOTE: Please be advised, there is NO guarantee of full-time work at any time of the year!!
- Hours are dependant upon work necessary. Usually mid-March through late April is slow, then
hours will increase through May, peaking in late May/early June, and then steadily decreasing
mid-June through late July. Hours pick up again late-August through mid-September, and then
the season ends mid-October.
- Daily hours are not consistent either. Each day, hours required can vary depending upon
weather, deliveries, store traffic, time of season, etc.
Notes:
- Due to the nature of this position (retail & live-goods) we work weekends and holidays during
the season. Remember, plants don't take vacations!
- This is NOT a customer service position. Our time is dedicated to plant care/maintenance, and
display maintenance.
- Merchandisers will be subject to work in inclement weather.
- Merchandising is a physical job that requires reaching, stretching, bending and sometimes
working in less than comfortable positions.
